Hi Friends and Family-
I have posted information here for a benefit for my sweet niece DAVY. DAVY is my brother Scott and SIL Ruth's daughter. She came to their family after 3 boys! We were so excited when she first announced she was having a baby girl. After a positive AFP test that their would be complications with their little girl, life became very emotional.

Many friends and family that have helped them since the beginning, have decided to put their efforts together and throw a benefit for Davy and her sweet parents. I know many of you wont be able to attend but we are asking for any donations people can give. Even if it is just $1 dollar and you passed on the news to all your friends that love Yo Gabba! ;)That would be awesome! I know they would be so grateful and it would personally mean so much to me also.

Apparently our family is into guns right about now. Here is Rocky practicing up in Utah. Myles made a bunch of different targets and they shot at the snow cave they built. Rock LOVED it.

Myles took me to the shooting range. I felt like he loved me even more afterward.

Another year at Peace Lutheran Preschool. Piper is excited to be in the "4 year old" big girl class. She is happy to have Mrs. Kromka and Mrs. Miller as her teachers. She is also looking forward to spending time with friends: Cassidy, Emma and Addison.

Tennis Lessons by Dad

Myles taught tennis lessons to Rock and his four friends- Carson, Kaden, Ashton and Clay. The boys had a fun time in the 6 week course and plan to do it again!

Rock loses his first tooth!

After weeks of wiggling his tooth, the permanent one started growing in and this baby had to go!

Here is the wiggly tooth barely holding on. We run out to the car as Myles is getting ready to leave in the morning. Rock begs him to pull it out. (He wants the cash)

Myles can't get a good enough grip on it so he says, "hold on" and comes back with pliers in his hand. Rock gets stressed. Look at his face in this picture.

Then out it comes!

And no memory of the plier stress!

A visit from the tooth fairy who reponds back to Rock's note asking if he can keep the tooth. She left her "dust" on his bed and he finds the loot!

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree...

So we found our Christmas Tree! It's always a fun time of year, when your house smells like pine and the lights are twinkling on it, as you curl up on the couch...

Rock was a great helper with carrying the tree and Piper heard us say we needed to "trim" the tree after we got it home. She took us literally and cut each branch.

My talented Sis-in-law Ruth took photos of our family for Christmas. It was at total impromptu shoot. We literally jumped in the car and didn't look in a mirror.

Let me tell you, it was kind of fun that way. Pretty stress free-

In October, Rock took a trip with Myles, Uncle Jared and a friend from our ward on a private plane. It was his first small plane flight (and Jared's). They were nervous at first, but had a great time.

Tying Shoes

Rock learned to tie his shoes. These pictures were taken on Oct. 22nd- the glorious day. We got new "tie" shoes for his tennis class and with some coaching from Myles and practice, he did it!

So, Rock has a new business. He is a recycler. He puts his gloves and boots on about once a month and sorts and smashes to his heart's content.
His favorite part is when the guy counts all his dollars one-by-one into his hand.
He pays his overhead ($3 to our friend that gives him cans), his 10% tithing, $1 to his hired help (Piper), puts $2 in his Wells savings account then SPENDS the rest.

His Special "helper". He usually gives her a dollar for her smashing services.

We had the kids pop a pink and blue balloon. We put confetti and treats in the blue balloon so they knew that was what we were having. They were pretty excited- so are Myles and I!

We harvested a few things from our garden. Herbs, carrots, squash, lettuce and CORN. Piper didn't hesitate in trying it right away. Must've been pretty good.

Piper's Silly Hat Parade

At Piper's preschool, instead of dressing up in their Halloween costumes, they decorate a "silly hat" with parents. They parade around and have treats at the end. Piper was SO looking forward to this- since she's watched two Silly Hat Parades of Rocky's already. Excited for it to be her turn! Myles and I were able to go and spend time with her.

Welcome to our annual family pumpkin carving. The kids usually last as long as scooping the seeds. It's fun and this year Piper had the privilege of having a front and "backside" to her pumpkin.

Storytime on YGG

This is an oldie but goodie. These pictures were from Rock's recording of a storytime on YGG back in August. Uncle Scott first coached him in his office. Piper took instruction too.

Then Scott directed him in the sound booth. We couldn't hear them but could see both their facial expressions which were pretty amazing.

In the sound booth, Rock was doing the wiggle dance and strumming his package. I knew he had to go to the bathroom but when Scott would ask, he'd lie and say no- since he didn't want to stop recording.

Listening to the playback (and the craft services table) were the funnest parts. We'll keep you tuned for his voice debut!

So, my washing machine broke. We ordered our new one but it took longer than we thought to be delivered...for a month our laundry mounded up in our room. It was actually quite liberating to throw your dirty clothes on it and not think about a hamper or sorting. Some things I learned however were: 1.) we have too many clothes, 2.) beach towels are not as comfortable to dry with after showers, 3.) the Pioneers had it rough washing by hand since we had a taste once or twice of it, 4.) 24 loads of laundry takes a LONG time to finish!!

This is Rock's first day of Kindergarten. He was pretty pumped to be going. We have "all day" K- which took some getting used to. It was an emotional day for Myles and I to send that little one off to "the real world".

Getting to know his teacher: Mrs. Silvertrust. He is telling her here that his name is not "Myles" but he goes by "Rock". Oh man, what did we do to him.

So, I was milling some flour- walked into my kitchen and it was snowing! Flour was everywhere!- I mean EVERYwhere. The air was all thick and it had covered every surface in my house while my mill just kept humming right along. I panicked, then realized it was one of those moments where the damage has already been done, so what do you do? Piper came in and asked- "mommy, why are you yelling and why is it snowing?" So, we both laughed and I grabbed the camera...

Happy Birthday to my Piper!

Her birthday was June 10th and she turned 3 years old. Where does the time go?

We celebrated in the morning with donuts and jumping in the bounce house with Cassidy. I caught the girls holding hands in the car and "celebrating the happy day".

In the evening we headed to Grandma's in Brea. Myles took Piper on a date to Build a Bear at Downtown Disney while we set up for the party. She wanted a pink princess party. She had fun cake and pinata and good company!

She got her own Guinea Pig from G&G and named her "Sparkles". Sparkles is a nut ball. She is fast and runs and jumps out of your arms. Luckily we had Eliza (the animal whisperer) to help us keep her tame. She also got a big girl Princess bike and helmet.

Blueberry Picking

Amber and kids came up a few weeks ago and we did some blueberry picking. Katie and her kids joined us too. Piper went for quality while Rocky went for quantity. It was a great reminder that summer had officially arrived!

Piper's Ballet Recital

This is Cassidy and Piper. They are holding "Bun Bun" and "Lu Lu". They take ballet class together and this was their recital. They were so excited. These girls can't get enough of each other and can't get enough of pink and tutus. I love the picture of Cass clasping her hands together. So irresistable!

After the recital, they called the Dad's up for a "Daddy Daughter" dance.

Myles is a good sport because "Butterfly Kisses" is a REALLY long song...

I posted this picture of Piper and I because if you notice the funny look on her face, then look down- she had just peed her pants and was not happy about it.

Prayers for Porka

Okay folks- we almost lost her. We put Porka (our guinea pig) outdoors in her pen like we do everyday. Only this time when I went to go get her, she wasn't moving at all! I freaked. I squirted her with a squirt bottle and tried feeding her. I put her in her cage and she just laid on her side like she'd given up hope to live. After many lies told to my kids and panicked tears shed, I called my animal master friend- Melissa to help. Bless her soul!

You see- something you should know is I am not entirely comfortable yet with our little animal. I am baby stepping it to understanding her. Melissa scooped Porka up into a cool bath and gave her eyedroppers of water as she pried open her lips...- she saved her life.

My assumption is she stayed in her plastic house out in the heat of the sun and baked herself. And I took these pictures quickly when I thought "the end" was near so my kids could remember her. As you can tell they had no idea what I was up to. phew.

Jayco- The Newest Member of our Family

So, we found Mr. Jayco while on a walk and knew immediately that we had to have him. He is an awesome tent trailer. We took Jayco to the Brown Reunion and had a great time. He had troubles on the way home with a flat tire and sparks flying for a couple of miles. I guess that is what being born in the 70's will do to you.

We got him home though and Myles has given him some TLC- now he is geared up for some summer camping.
